Assistant Professor Position in Human Biological Anthro at University of Pittsburgh

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a tenure-line position in human biological anthropology at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2019, pending budgetary approval. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of application.

We seek an individual with research specialization in anthropological genetics, epigenetics and/or epidemiology, who works with contemporary living populations. Teaching responsibilities will include two courses in the fall term and two courses in the spring term, at undergraduate and graduate levels. The applicant will be expected to develop courses that reflect her/his area of expertise in anthropological genetics, the human life cycle, and/or environment and health. Geographic specialization is open. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research program, advise and mentor students, and contribute to departmental and university administration.
