ENQA, the European Network for Queer Anthropology, has extended the deadline for submissions for the first Young Scholar Award for European Queer Anthropology until the 17th of December.

The ENQA Young Scholar Award is awarded bi-annually by the European Network for Queer Anthropology (ENQA) to a young scholar honoring outstanding work in European queer anthropology that critically engages historical and/or current understandings of gender and sexuality and their socio-cultural implications. The winning submission will be considered for publication in Social Anthropology/Anthropologie Sociale, the journal of the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA).

ENQA serves as a professional network for academics and scholars who work on sexual and gender diversity from a queer anthropological perspective and aims to promote queer ethnographic research, communication, and teaching on sexual and gender diversity. ENQA also strives to serve the interests of anthropologists who self-identify in terms of queer sexualities and genders, however defined, in offering resources, support, and community. ENQA-membership is open to anyone scholarly working on and academically engaged with queer issues in a European context.

Submissions for the ENQA Young Scholar Award are encouraged from graduate students at MA or PhD level.
