The Department of Sociology & Anthropology at Montana State University
(Bozeman) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Anthropology
at the rank of Assistant Professor, to start in August 2018.

We seek an established PhD who (1) has substantive interests in Cultural
Anthropology, (2) has a well-articulated research agenda that includes a
record of scholarly productivity, and (3) has a commitment to teaching and
mentoring undergraduate students. The area of specialization is open, aside
from East Asia.

The appointment is a nine-month, tenure track position. We hope to attract
applicants who can teach in a diverse University community and have a
demonstrated ability in helping students from diverse backgrounds succeed.

Requirements:

– PhD in Anthropology, or closely related discipline, by start date.
– Potential to develop an independent, high-quality research program.
– Ability to teach a four-field introductory course, a lower division
combined cultural anthropology/linguistic anthropology course, and
anthropological theory.
